D.O. Mancha Origins

In order to conserve the winemaking tradition which has characterised La Mancha since time immemorial, the Regulatory Board's first task in 1973 was to create the Denomination of Origin of La Mancha and adopt an identity for the wines of the region. This was endorsed in 1976 by a Ministerial Order (OM.2-VI-1976), which approved the regulation governing the Denomination of Origin and its Regulatory Board. The Regulatory Board operates as a public law corporation and its basic mission is to foster winemaking in the DO region, ensure the standards are upheld and promote the wines produced. The BODEGAS DEL SAZ operates under La Mancha DO and in response to both the demands of the market and customers sales have grown very quickly and as much as 10% in the last few years.
